If you encounter any issues with the internet, please ensure this is plugged into the wall and switched on at the mains. You’ll find the router in the twin room at the front of the property. If you’re still having issues, simply contact the team in the office so they can investigate further.

Locate the digital thermostat in the utility room - at the end of the downstairs hallway - mounted on the wall to the right as you enter the room. First, ensure the switch to the left is on and the red light is illuminated. On the thermostat, the bottom left toggle should be centred on RUN mode. Then, as per this video, press the three ZONE buttons so the display reads ON. To turn off, press the same buttons until the displays reads OFF. We kindly ask you to turn off the heating before you head to bed each night and if you leave the house at any point.
If the above is not working, first ensure the boiler (located at the back door in the utility space) is switched on and not showing any faults. Otherwise, please just contact us here in the office and we can reach out to the local team.

Too toasty?! On the rare occasion that the city does see a spectacular summer’s day, we do also have a small number of fans available. Contact the office to request one but, please note, this is subject to availability.

All properties have a hairdryer to hand and we provide one set of towels per guest to save you some room in your suitcase!
As we’re self-serviced accommodation and not a hotel, daily housekeeping is not provided. However, if you are staying with us for more than seven days, someone will attend to turnover the house and restock your linen. This is will be pre-arranged with the team in the office.
A small number of toilet rolls and toiletries are left to get you started on your first night. The local Co-Op in The Diamond or Spar around the corner on North St would be your closest locations to stock up on supplies and groceries.

The Smart TV has streaming apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube. Use your own account details to sign into these and we would just gently remind you to sign out before departing!
*If you forget, don’t worry - just contact the team in the office and we’ll have a member of staff head down and log you out.
There’s a separate remote for the wall-mounted fireplace or you can operate this using the switches on top.
Depending on the make-up of your group, you may need to use the sofa bed for the additional guests. This is located in downstairs lounge. The bedding for this is usually found in the cupboard opposite.

You will find the washing machine in the utility room by the back door. Ensure this is switched on and simply select your desired function. The iron and ironing board are also stored here.
A small number of laundry capsules can be found below the kitchen sink. This is a washer only and not a tumble dryer so you will need to use the air dryer to hang your wet laundry.

All bedrooms have spacious wardrobes or drawers where you you’ll find ample hanging space for those items you want to keep neat and tidy. Should you wish to store away your larger luggage items, you can pop these in the utility room or in the cupboard below the stairs.
neat and tidy
The spacious, private kitchen is always a hit with our guests. Here you’ll have everything you need to whip up a tasty, home-cooked meal or a warm breakfast on a cold winter’s day.
As we’re self-serviced accommodation, we provide utensils, cookware and crockery, but the cupboards and the fridge are left bare for you to stock with what you need. Pull up a stool at the breakfast bar, take a seat at the dining table and relax over your morning coffee before setting off for a full day of sights or shopping.
Ensure the oven is switched on at the wall. Adjust knobs for temperature and function to use the oven accordingly. Before you leave the house on the morning of your departure, we simply ask that you pop your crockery in the dishwasher and clean any pots and pans you might have used.

Although it can sometimes feel like it, we aren’t a hotel so some of our processes will be different. As daily Housekeeping isn’t a feature of self-serviced accommodation, it may be the case that you start to accumulate more rubbish than fits in your personal, indoor bins.
If that’s the case, we would kindly ask that you remove this to the larger outdoor bin to prevent any spillages or odours in-house. You’ll find this to the rear of the property - head out through the patio doors or the utility and the black bin will be on your right.
Replacement bin-bags will be under the sink in the kitchen and we thank you for your kind co-operation.
