Ensuring the boiler (located by the back door) is switched on and not showing any faults, locate the Smart Thermostat in the dining space. Usually this is on the window sill or dining table. Simply rotate the external casing clockwise to set the desired temperature; you'll hear the boiler fire up and the radiators will begin to heat. To turn off, turn the dial fully anti-clockwise. We kindly ask you to turn off the heating before you head to bed each night and if you leave the house at any point.
If the above is not working, please just contact the team in the office and one of our Maintenance team can promptly attend.

Too toasty?! On the rare occasion that the city does see a spectacular summer’s day, we do also have a small number of fans available. Contact the office to request one but, please note, this is subject to availability.

All properties have a hairdryer to hand and we provide one set of towels per guest to save you some room in your suitcase!
As we’re self-serviced accommodation and not a hotel, daily housekeeping is not provided. However, if you are staying with us for more than seven days, someone will attend to turnover the house and restock your linen. This is will be pre-arranged with the team in the office.
A small number of toilet rolls and miniature toiletries are left to get you started on your first night. Connswater shopping area is located just across the main road junction and would be your closest location to stock up on supplies. For fresh groceries, head along the Upper Newtownards Road towards Stormont Estate and you’ll find a large Eurospar and a Tesco Express on your left.

You’ll find two remotes in the lounge. Use the One For All to turn on the TV. The other remote should work for all other functions and you will have immediate access to the usual Freeview channels.
In addition, the TV has limited streaming apps such as Amazon Prime and YouTube. Press the APPS button on the main remote to select these. Use your own account details to sign into these and we would just gently remind you to sign out before departing!
*If you forget, don’t worry - just contact the team in the office and we’ll have a member of staff head down and log you out.

You will find the washing machine by the back door. Ensure this is switched on and simply select your desired function. The iron and ironing board are stored in the cupboard to the left of the dining table.
A small number of laundry capsules can be found below the kitchen sink. This is a washer only and not a tumble dryer so you will need to use the air dryer to hang your wet laundry.

Both bedrooms have spacious wardrobes where you can store away your luggage and you’ll find hanging space for those items you want to keep neat and tidy.

The spacious, private kitchen is always a hit with our guests. Here you’ll have everything you need to whip up a tasty, home-cooked meal or a warm breakfast on a cold winter’s day.
As we’re self-serviced accommodation, we provide utensils, cookware and crockery, but the cupboards and the fridge are left bare for you to stock with what you need. Pull up a chair, take a seat at the table and relax over your morning coffee before setting off for a full day of sights or shopping.
Ensure the large, red switch for the cooker is switched on at the wall. Adjust knobs for temperature and function to use the oven accordingly. On the hob, remember to press and hold down the desired knob to trigger the gas ignition while you also turn them.
Before you leave the house on the morning of your departure, we simply ask that you pop your crockery in the dishwasher and clean any pots and pans you might have used.

Although it can sometimes feel like it, we aren’t a hotel so some of our processes will be different. As daily Housekeeping isn’t a feature of self-serviced accommodation, it may be the case that you start to accumulate more rubbish than fits in your personal, indoor bins.
If that’s the case, we would kindly ask that you remove this to the larger outdoor bin to prevent any spillages or odours in-house. You’ll find this in the side avenue to the left of the front door as your exit. Recycling boxes are also available and are usually stored in the back garden unless they’re out for collection.
Replacement bin-bags will be under the sink in the kitchen and we thank you for your kind co-operation.
