In Apts 1-3, the heating is operated in two ways. First, ensure the thermostat dial on the wall is turned around to between 25-30°; you should hear a click indicating it is on. Secondly, within the boiler cupboard you’ll find an electronic EPH control panel - follow these instructions to turn this on to the desired mode.

In Apt 4, you will only need to turn the thermostat dial on the right-hand wall as you enter the apartment. Ensure this is turned around to between 25-30°to maintain a consistent temperature.

IMPORTANT: The gas supply is monitored closely by our team; if this is left running for long periods throughout the day or overnight and an excessive amount is used during your stay, this may be chargeable against your security deposit. We appreciate your understanding and co-operation!

Should you encounter an issue with the heating, we kindly ask that you do not amend the settings on the boiler, but do check that this is switched on and is not showing any error codes. The boiler can be found in the hallway cupboard (Apts. 1 & 2), in the lounge cupboard (Apt. 3) and in the bathroom cupboard (Apt 4).

If you find the heating still hasn’t fired up and you’re positive there’s an issue, simply contact the team in the office and one of our Maintenance team can promptly attend.

Too toasty?! On the rare occasion that the city does see a spectacular summer’s day, we do also have a small number of fans available. Contact the office to request one but, please note, this is subject to availability.

All properties have a hairdryer to hand and we provide one set of towels per guest to save you some room in your suitcase!

As we’re self-serviced accommodation and not a hotel, daily housekeeping is not provided. However, if you are staying with us for more than seven days, someone will attend to turnover the house and restock your linen. This is will be pre-arranged with the team in the office.

A small number of toilet rolls are left to get you started on your first couple of nights. The Tesco Express located on University Road (opposite side of the street) would be your closest location to stock up on supplies.

freshen up

We’ve recently made the transition to refillable toiletries and you’ll find the soothing, spa-like scent of lavender and geranium Faith in Nature body wash and shampoo in every en-suite shower room. These should be kept topped up at all times, but if you find you’ve run low, just give our team a shout and we’ll arrange for this to be remedied!

You’ll find the TV in the lounge where you’ll have access to Freeview channels as well as a small number of streaming apps such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer and YouTube. Use your own account details to sign into these and we would just gently remind you to sign out before departing!

*If you forget, don’t worry - just contact the team in the office and we’ll have a member of staff head down and log you out.

If you’re staying in one of our Superior Apartments, you may also need to use the sofa bed in the evenings. We’ve pulled together a quick video tutorial to show you exactly how this operates so you can get settled down with no stress!

You will find the iron and ironing board in either the hall/lounge cupboard or the wardrobe. A small number of laundry capsules can be found below the kitchen sink for use in the washing machine. This is not a tumble dryer so you will need to use the air dryer to hang your wet laundry.

All bedrooms have wardrobes or a chest of drawers where you can store those items you want to keep neat and tidy. Some apartments also have a cupboard in the hall in which you’re welcome to store your luggage.

neat and tidy

Having access to a private kitchen is always a hit with our guests. Here you’ve everything you need to whip up a tasty, home-cooked meal or a warm breakfast on a cold winter’s day. The wine and the crisps? A gift from us to you - enjoy!

As we’re self-serviced accommodation, we provide utensils, cookware and crockery, but the cupboards and the fridge are left bare for you to stock with what you need. Take a seat at the dining table and relax over your morning coffee before setting off for a full day of sights or shopping.

Ensure the cooker is switched on at the wall using the large red switch. Adjust knobs for temperature and function to use the oven accordingly. The hob is gas powered - you’ll need to hold down the ignition button while also turning the knobs to get the rings to fire.

Before you leave the house on the morning of your departure, we simply ask that you clean any crockery, pots or pans you might have used and store these away neatly. Our Housekeeping team will take care of the rest!

Although it can sometimes feel like it, we aren’t a hotel so some of our processes will be different. As daily Housekeeping isn’t a feature of self-serviced accommodation, it may be the case that you start to accumulate more rubbish than fits in your personal, indoor bins.

If that’s the case, we would kindly ask that you remove this to the bins in the ground floor bin store. The bin store is located down the corridor, proceed through the first door, and enter through the first door on the left.

Replacement bin-bags will be under the sink in the kitchen and we thank you for your kind co-operation.
